Below the fabled grey of the boardwalks at Coney Island and Atlantic City is a mix of exotic hardwoods; varied in color tone, but sharing two essential qualities – a nearly supernatural resistance to the water, salts and insects of the seaside environment – and tropical beauty. Originally cut from the ancient trees of earths richest forests, they are gradually being fazed out of public use, and reclaimed may be the only chance to enjoy these woods in our built environment – and feel good about it.

Color and Surface
A mix of color hues that reflect other vibrant elements of Rainforest environment – tans, mahogany, crimsons and van dyke browns, are mostly even toned across the fine grained and knot free surface. Most finishes deepen the color value of each wood in moderate degree, with finished and unfinished surfaces determined by application and design vision of a project.
