Every salvaged wood source is subject to different conditions over the eras and all orders are custom specified. And this produces unending variation in the boards – often subtle, and sometimes dramatic. One common ground – they all produce “waste” off-cut scrap. Sometimes, this by product is an exceptional product in itself. In this instance, these naily edge strips, ripped from barn joists for the Brooklyn CityPoint project, make for a unique wall cladding.
