Heavy Lumber
Tropical hardwoods are among the densest and hardest woods in the world. Most of the bio-mass within a Rainforest is stored in their trunks, making forest regeneration hard, if not impossible, after clear-cutting. The 6″ x 12″ x 20′ timber in the photo weighs close to 600lbs. It’s logs were originally hauled from the S. American forests by oxen.
